Tetraethylammonium Hydroxide (TEAOH for short), with CAS No. 77-98-5 and chemical formula C₈H₂₁NO, is mostly sold as a 20% aqueous solution, appearing as colorless to pale yellow liquid. It is easily soluble in water and ethanol, with strong alkalinity, stable chemical properties but easy to absorb carbon dioxide in the air[3]. Its core applications are in organic synthesis, electronics, analytical chemistry and other fields. It serves as a strong base catalyst to accelerate transesterification, hydrolysis and other reactions, and also as a phase transfer catalyst to improve reaction efficiency.
