Polyether polyols are oligomers characterized by a backbone containing ether linkages (—R—O—R—) and terminal or side groups containing more than two hydroxyl groups (—OH); they are produced through the addition polymerization of an initiator with monomers such as ethylene oxide (EO), propylene oxide (PO), and butylene oxide (BO) in the presence of a catalyst.
